Meticulous Infection Control Protocols Have Garnered Positive Results For The Carolina Inn

Fayetteville Assisted Living Community Continues To Welcome New Residents

(Fayetteville, North Carolina)—Months into the COVID-19 crisis, The Carolina Inn assisted living community in Fayetteville, North Carolina continues to maintain its track record for unparalleled senior care.

Not only is The Carolina Inn accepting new move-ins with stringent precautions and wellness measures in place, the staff has created imaginative and fun ways to bring Life Enrichment programs to residents.

“Consistently, studies have shown the importance of social interaction for the well-being of seniors,” said Jared Fryer, president of Village Green Real Estate and Development. “However, restrictions to reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19 in the general population can make staying connected with older loved ones problematic.”

The Carolina Inn, on the other hand, offers a more controlled environment, which helps mitigate the risk of spreading the disease. Strict safety measures were established early to protect residents and personnel. As the situation with the pandemic evolves, management monitors and adjusts its protocols…always following CDC guidelines.

“It can be difficult to make the decision to move a loved one into an assisted living community, even more so during these worrisome times,” said Fryer. “That’s why it’s so important The Carolina Inn provides a supportive environment where seniors can thrive.”

At The Carolina Inn, Life Enrichment programs help keep residents active, engaged and stimulated—mentally, physically and emotionally. Today, they mainly occur one-on-one between staff and residents or in a socially distanced setting. Some of the community’s revamped social programming includes:

  • Piano and singing performances are now piped in through the intercom system and residents can participate in games such as intercom dollar bingo and Name That Tune.
  • Those celebrating a birthday can hear their names announced over the intercom amidst the Happy Birthday melody.
  • A mobile book cart travels through the community weekly.
  • Trivia, game packets, word search, and crosswords are delivered directly to residents’ doorways as is wine and cheese for happy hour.
  • Despite limited visitation, family members can interact with resident via Zoom and FaceTime with calls scheduled daily by the Life Enrichment Director.
  • Window visits are welcome, too.

“Enriching the lives of our assisted living residents always comes first at The Carolina Inn,” said Fryer. “Nowhere else offers all the comforts of home in a safe and caring resort-style setting.”

With protocols developed by the medical staff to protect new and existing residents as well as staff, The Carolina Inn has once again raised the standard for assisted living. For more than 20 years, the boutique assisted living community has been offering round-the-clock, person-centered senior care in the heart of Fayetteville’s Village Green neighborhood. Residents receive help with daily activities…as much or as little as needed…along with nutritious meals and 24-hour security and maintenance.

Furnished and unfurnished one- and two-bedrooms apartments currently are available. For a limited time, new residents can save 20 percent on their first six months’ rent.
